The Spanish speaking community is diverse, with varied needs and experiences, particularly regarding dementia and cancer care. The ImPaCT-Cancer and ImPaCT-Dementia studies focus on improving healthcare for Latino/a/e/x individuals and their families, addressing language and cultural barriers.

How We Help:

  • Develop materials such as interview guides, study flyers, and translating study materials for Spanish-speaking individuals.

  • Focus on improving healthcare access and providing culturally sensitive dementia and cancer care resources.

Chinese Community Workgroup

The ImPaCT-Dementia study focuses on improving care for Chinese-speaking older adults with memory problems. This workgroup addresses the unique needs of Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking populations, ensuring culturally relevant dementia care.

How We Help:

  • Offer educational programs and support for Chinese families affected by dementia.

  • Create resources in Mandarin and Cantonese, facilitating better healthcare access for this community.

Vietnamese Community Workgroup

The Vietnamese community often faces barriers to healthcare, especially related to cancer care and dementia. Through the ImPaCT-Cancer and ImPaCT-Dementia studies, we work with the Vietnamese community to improve care and healthcare delivery.

How We Help:

  • Engage with community members to understand the challenges faced by Vietnamese-speaking families dealing with dementia and cancer.

  • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate materials to help families navigate healthcare services.

  • Provide educational resources and support groups to improve care and reduce health disparities in cancer and dementia treatment.
